Florida day 9: Divers and Pelicans!

Today we decided to go to explore the beaches near by our villa. First stop - a beach near Clearwater...

The first beach stop on the day
We had our lunch on the sand, gradually moving up the beach as the sea started to head in. We almost didn't realise and it was a part of the beach with cars on and a few people had parked their cars a liiiiittle too close to the sea.

The beach car park

Although we completely forgot our sun cream and I wore a top with a lace pattern that left me with 2 lovely burn marks on my chest... always wear sun cream kids!

Walks along the bridge and past some beaches
I think this was a pelican? I'm so uneducated...

There were a few beaches that we explored and they were so nice, so we walked along to explore, although there weren't many cafes or shops to go in nearby.

Crazy diving guy whose legs were splashing around for absolutely ages

We then headed home to go in the pool for a bit. The owners had left beds, hoops, chairs, 2 tubes and a ball in the garage so we had a game of volleyball in the pool for an hour or so.

Florida's evenings (dusk?) are stunning

Then we got changed to go to the memorial park and played some tennis, and then rounders. Somehow I didn't totally fail at tennis but why are rackets SO SO heavy?!

It was a good opportunity to have a play with the camera

This day wasn't overly exciting but it was lovely exploring a new part of Florida and I hope you enjoyed it! If you missed it, click here for day 8.

Florida day 8: Sunset Sea

I finally charged up my ipod touch, worked out what the passcode is and rustled through my notes to finish off my florida blogs!

Our new villa

After picking up a bunch of shopping (way too much for the car as it turned out), we headed to our new villa... which was a million times better than the old one.

The elegant interior of the villa

The new and improved pool!

It was a gorgeous, shabby chic and spacious villa with a lovely big pool and thankfully, non squeaky bed compared to the last place!

The clouds almost looked artificial

The weather was fairly warm, which made a surprising change, so we headed off to Hudson beach. A weirdly large proportion of this holiday was quite chilly.

This guy had 2 dogs wearing sunglasses on his bike so of course I had to take a photo. You don't get that in England!

Everything stands out so perfectly with this effect :)

I had a fun little play around with the effects on my camera and I liked the result. For anybody wondering, its the Sony Alpha 5100 that I use for most of my photos.

Bird hat guy!

One group of people were feeding the seagulls and they kept landing on this man's hat and they even flew off with it haha. I run a mile when they fly anywhere near me... the zoom on this photo is strong, trust me.

The sky was producing this beautiful rainbow effect and a lady told us the name but I'm at a total loss trying to remember what it was. We had a similar one in England not long ago that was even more beautiful, minus the sea view below, and that was called cloud iridescence. Maybe it was the same?

My brother watching the sunset with his girlfriend

My brother made me take so many photos of him and his girlfriend. Some of them were admittedly quite sweet but I can't post most of them, annoyingly.

The 'sea surfing seagull'

Some perfect timing working

Picking just three photos of the sunset was so difficult. I had about 20 and they all were so beautiful with their own twist on uniqueness that I loved about them.

Florida Day 7: Random Cows & Trying Again!

This is our seventh day of Florida...

We went on a boat trip to 'look for alligators', but mainly for the views and to go on a fast boat haha.

The weather was so cold on the boat, and I only had a thin jumper on!

I was looking for alligators, which we saw one, but I didn't realise there would be so many other species around.

So, this was a random cow in the middle of the water amongst the reeds. Normal, right?

The trip only lasted half an hour so we still had most of the day left to go for another explore in the theme parks closer to our villa before we moved down south the next day.

We went on duelling dragons again today, but invited Christie as she couldn't go on last time. The crazy guy on the mummy ride last time ruined the experience, and as there was a short queue, we tried that again. There was so much we missed! It was a really good ride.

The aim of going back had actually been for the minion ride, but the constant 90 minute queue meant that was a no go.

This duck was so cute, random, but cute. Thought I'd just throw that in there (not literally) too.

I went to Sizzlers for tea, which is a nice all you can eat buffet.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed! If you missed day 6, just click here for that.
